Nick Bell's Bio
Nick Bell

Middays 10 AM - 3 PM Mon. - Fri.

Born in a small village in the shadows of the Swiss Alps…  no, that's not right...

Here's the one thing you really need to know about me:  I drank a Glo-Necklace when I was 6 years old.  My Mother had taken me to the circus that evening and bought me a Glo-Necklace.  When we got home, we put it in the freezer (because if you do that, they glow longer).  I woke up in the middle of the night and decided I wanted a popsicle.  I pulled a chair up to the fridge, climbed up, opened the freezer, and there it was.  Beckoning to me with it's soft green glow.  So, I grabbed it, pulled the end off, and drank it like a college kid does a beer bong.  The next thing I can remember is that I was crying and that I woke my Mom up and told her my tummy hurt.

I'm not sure if I was more upset because I was sick or because I didn't have the Glo-Necklace anymore...

The 4th

Jul 03, 2008 -- 1:49pm

I love fireworks.  I am a huge pyro, and anything that burns or explodes is cool (minus the state of California, of course).  Naturally, I love this time of year.

Well, almost.

There are two things that I really don't like.

Number one being the fact that we life in Michigan where anything other than fountains & sparkelers are banned for "private" use.  That is so completely lame.  At least give us bottle rockets and firecrackers!  This leads me directly into point number 2, which is those people who decide to still bring those types of fireworks into the area.  Now, don't get me wrong, I have done this myself, and I don't condemn it.  What I don't like about it is when these people decide that the only proper time to light them off is after midnight.  I have a 4 year old, and a dog who is completely afraid of everything.  Loud explosions in the middle of the night does not fly well with them.

So, if you have these items in your posession, be safe, and don't be a douchebag.

Hands off please!

Jun 20, 2008 -- 1:00pm

I just have to get something off my chest really fast here.

I love doing remotes, and talking to listeners.  There is nothing cooler to me than talking to someone who actually listens to me on the air.

However, if I am doing a break on the air, please don't come up behind me and tickle me!  That wasn't cool lady!

Down With the Sickness

Jun 16, 2008 -- 10:58am

In case you can't tell by how I sound on the air, I am fighting a cold.  Things were at their worst on Friday, but now, my body has been fighting back, and it seems as if we are ready to have peace talks.

Of course, I'm sure the proceedings will be interrupted and the treaty will not be signed, but it's nice to be close to it.

And GO STING!!!  They won their first round playoff game, and are now two wins away from becoming the 2008 CIFL Champs!

Sting default their way to #1

Jun 10, 2008 -- 10:57am

So apparently the Saginaw Sting have defaulted their way into the number 1 seed in the playoffs for the Continental Indoor Football League.

How did they do this? Well, the number 1 team in the league, the Rochester Raiders from Rochester, New York decided Sunday after Flint's team, the Flint Phantoms no showed the game in New York (due to the fact that they didn't have anough players), that they were going to pull out of the league entirely. Yes, they totally pulled a Cartman, "Screw you guys! I'm going home."

And you know what? That's all good because now the Sting are the number 1 seed. The biggest threat to the Sting staying in the playoffs is gone.

Now it's going to be the Sting and the Kalamazoo Xplosion in the championship game (which I predicted before the season started by the way). The funny thing about that to me, is that both teams have the same owner. So it should be interesting to see who wears what colors on that day.

Anyway, let's go Saginaw Sting!

I got schmoosched

May 27, 2008 -- 10:11am

Yes, I typed it out like that because it's kinda fun to pronounce it lthat way.  Go ahead, give it a try!

Anyway, I was at the Saginaw Sting game on Saturday, and as you can see from the pictures here, I caught a player.

This is split second before impact, right before the player's legs ended up around my head.  And I was lucky enough to get two angles!

Unfortunately it's not like the footballs, and when a player comes over the wall and you catch him, you don't get to keep them.
